HCAM National Model Aviation Day 2014 is History!

Supporting the Wounded Warrior Program

The Hill Country Aeromodelers invites you to an Open House on Saturday August 16th.

Admission is free and there is plenty of free parking for guests. The event will be held from 9am to 2pm. A raffle will be held every hour beginning at 10 am with kid friendly items.  Items are donated by your friendly Hobby Town. There will also be gliders for the younger kids.

Donations to the Wounded Warrior program will be accepted but no donation is required.

We will have static displays of large model aircraft (over 8ft in wingspan), scale aircraft from many aviation eras, biplanes, gliders, electric jets, helicopters, pylon racers and sport flyer models.

There will be flying demonstrations and many club members available to answer questions about this family friendly hobby. Our active member ages range from pre-teen to post 80.

Come prepared with sunglasses, hats and sun protection.  It will be HOT.

Check back frequently for updates.  We are still planning activities that include kid friendly activities.

Time will be set aside to give some spectators a chance to fly with one of our Instructor Pilots.

Safety First: Spectators will be required to stay behind the safety fence for most of the events.

The club operates from and maintains Ralph DeClairmont Flying Field in South Austin, inside Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park. We have an asphalt runway that is approximately 550 ft. by 50 ft. There is plenty of shade in the operations building.
